Getting rid of alert box "Calendar.setup:Nothing to setup (no fields found)" Message in jomSocial" 7 years, 5 months ago #2047

Hi,

Check the below screenshot:

calendar.setup_alertbox.JPG

The above alert box comes when you try to stop an loading page in jomSocial!
Since, the page has not been properly loaded and hence it does not finds any element and hence throws and error message.
Web portals with jomSocial component installed face this issue, actually this is not even an issue.
I guess this alert box was just to ensure that the id of the calendar used is valid.
To solve this just go to the following file:

media/system/js/calendar-setup.js

check for following code:
alert("Calendar.setup:\n Nothing to setup (no fields found). Please check your code")

Replace it with the following code!
if (typeof console != 'undefined' && typeof console.log == 'function') { /* checks for console.log fn is avail or not developers use chrome or firefox! not IE so no harm!*/
console.log("Calendar.setup:\n  Nothing to setup (no fields found).  Please check your code");
}
// debug only in chrome and firefox with firebug!

if there will be an error you can check your console always! why bug users with alertboxes!

Thanks,
Deepesh Chang.
